// May 20 2009 // The Festival and Team Europe Ventures promote European elections

The pan-European movement “The Festival | One Week. One Europe” in alliance with the Internet holding Team Europe Ventures, both based in Berlin, have launched an initiative today with the goal to promote the European elections from June 4-7.

The heart of this online campaign is the song “I am European”, which has been produced in order to increase awareness about The Festival; the first people to people celebration for all Europeans, which will unite, for the first time, more than 1,000,000 people from all over Europe in Berlin in July 2012.

“Given The Festival’s pro-European spirit, it was natural for us to find ways to promote the European elections and the finalization of our Hymn, produced by Leon Larkin and George Kaleve, coincided with the pre-election period”, says Florian Mück, co-founder and CEO of The Festival. “We are very happy about Lukasz Gadowski and his Team Europe Ventures joining our efforts. We both share a European vision; Team Europe Ventures has a European online focus, we aim at connecting Europeans. It just makes sense to cooperate in such an initiative.”

The song “I am European” can be downloaded for free at thefestival.eu. The Festival partner Spreadshirt, part of Team Europe Ventures, offers a special discount for “I am European” shirts till July 31.

// March 04 2009 // Sarah Connor joins The Festival movement!

Sarah Connor, the internationally renowned German singer and songwriter, becomes Official Ambassador of The Festival, and actively supports the first people to people celebration for all Europeans. In her new role Sarah will be the first German public figure to promote the project over the time and perform at The Festival in Berlin in July 2012.

About her new role the Pop and Soul Diva says,

“During my tours in the US I always admire this shared identity among the people. No matter what cultural background they have – South-American, African, European, Asian – they all consider themselves American. I know that we are still far away from a European identity or even a European citizenship. Nevertheless, it’s always been a dream of mine. I am proud of my European roots, and The Festival is an important step to make this tree of togetherness grow stronger and bigger. I agree with the team behind The Festival; we can only create a shared European feeling among our people, if we unite. I don’t know where you are going to be in July 2012. I will be in Berlin and support this movement.”

For the initiators of this movement the engagement of the media front-runner is a big step towards the realization of the 100% privately funded project. Co-founder and CEO Florian Mück appreciates Sarah’s pro-European attitude:

“We are looking for Official Ambassadors from all over Europe. These public figures and their testimonials and active engagement are local cornerstones of our pan-European communication. If these local ambassadors of the worlds of art, cuisine, fashion, film, music and sports are even international stars like Sarah Connor, this is wonderful. With Sarah we have won an authentic representative of this movement. She believes Europe is our future; this is the reason for her to become an Official Ambassador of The Festival.

About Sarah Connor

Sarah Connor debuted in 2001 under the guidance of musicians Rob Tyger and Kay Denar and became the first act to ever have four consecutive chart-topping hits on the German Media Control singles chart. Following success in mainland Europe with her single “From Sarah with Love,” a series of hit records established her position as one of the most successful German pop vocalists to emerge in the early 2000s with the sales of over 12 million copies worldwide.

About The Festival

We have one currency. We have common laws. We have mobility for all. But where is the feeling? For the first time in history more than 1,000,000 Europeans from Norway to Italy, from Portugal to Lithuania, from Ireland to Turkey will unite at The Festival in Berlin in July 2012. During one week, Europeans, people, you and I will be creating that European feeling together. Europe. Made by people.
