What is The Festival?
The Festival is a bi-annual event in European metropolises where more than 1,000,000 people from all over Europe come together and find inspiration to create and share the European experience.
The mission of this exceptional European movement is to promote a pan-European feeling and start working on a European narrative created by its people.
The Festival approach is to unite Europeans around exciting lifestyle tracks; art, cuisine, fashion, film, music & sports. International brands and other collaborators will ensure The Festival message will reach 20 to 40 year-olds all over Europe.
A growing number of supportive testimonials from European public figures like Sarah Connor or Brainstorm (Latvian Nº 1 band) are strengthening The Festival message.
In the early stages of preparation, media partners will come primarily from the online world (Facebook, Twitter, XING, Clipfish, Deutsch Magazine, Lexposure.net, …) at the beginning. Classical media groups will be encouraged to join at a later stage.
Operational partners of The Festival core team (6 founders) include market leaders like StageCo (stage building) or PRG (technical provider).
The premiere of The Festival will be celebrated in Berlin in July 2012.
The project was initiated by Florian Mueck in Barcelona in October 2006.

When will The Festival rock Europe?
For one week, Saturday to Saturday, in a week of July 2012.
Where will The Festival inspire millions of Europeans?
Berlin is the first stop of The Festival which will then be held in a different European metropolis every two years.
And where could it possibly be taking place? Of course, on the 2.2 km long strip between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column - right in the center of the city, in Tiergarten, Berlin’s Central Park. The event space “City of Europe” awaits you with a spectacular array of experiences in the fields of art, cuisine, fashion, film, music and sports, all focusing on connecting people - a gigantic European mega happening.
Where will The Festival crowd come from?
This project, this movement will have been a great success, if we can motivate Europeans to visit Berlin in large numbers in July 2012.
The numbers of visitors are estimations based on actual data of Berlin tourism. In 2007 seven million people visited Berlin - this is set to increase to roughly 20 million by 2010.
Berlin is Europe’s city of the hour. A perfect place to start the European tour which will continue in another exciting European metropolis every two years.
Why should people spend time and money to travel to Berlin in July 2012?
There are many reasons!
Berlin, Berlin, Berlin, experiencing European togetherness, making new friends from Poland to Portugal, seeing celebrities from all over the place, enjoying exciting lifestyle tracks, seeing top acts on stage, listening to European music, sampling Europe’s cuisine, getting insights into fellow cultures from Austria to the UK, feeling European vibes, meeting your new girlfriend from Macedonia, luxuriating in great brands, meeting your new boyfriend from Ireland, getting free English lessons, laughing about the Germans, listening to great speakers, a peek at top models, talking about our future, getting to know what Europe is all about…
Who funds The Festival movement?
The Festival is the first private initiative to promote team-building and people-to-people interaction on a European level. The funding is based on corporate commitments in two categories: Official Sponsors and Official Partners.
Six Official Sponsors - the main sponsors - host the six lifestyle tracks of The Festival; art, cuisine, fashion, film, music & sports.
Official Partners are suppliers in the classical segments like accommodation, railway, air travel, etc. Our Official Partners will support The Festival logistics.

Who can possibly bring The Festival to life?
Clearly, you need a strong network of partners. Among others, we are thrilled to have two “European giants” in the event sector on board.
The famous “Crawler”, currently being used at U2’s world tour, is an invention by our Belgian friends from StageCo, Europe’s number one in stage building. The last three Olympic Summer Games were technically driven by Hamburg-based PRG.
With the expertise of these two major players in unique mega events we are very confident The Festival will be a smooth operation!
Who are the media partners of The Festival?
Our approach is two-fold.
First we target the online world with a special focus on facebook, Twitter, and XING. Clipfish, the vertically integrated video platform of Bertelsmann/RTL Group, is already supporting this movement. Special interest magazines like Lexposure.net or Deutsch Magazine, both from the fashion sector, are already on board.
In a second step we will be targeting the classical media groups like Bertelsmann or News Corp.
At the same time, a growing number of personalities, like Sarah Connor or Steve Blame are supporting The Festival movement throughout Europe.
What is the social commitment of The Festival founders?
Together with Berlin-based CreativeMind, we’ll be setting up the Cultural Entrepreneurship Fund which gives micro loans (€ 1,000- € 10,000) to social/cultural entrepreneurs in the fields of art, cuisine, fashion, film, music & sports.
These will also be fascinating story lines backing The Festival mission to facilitate a European narrative.
How can I join The Festival movement?
