Alexander about Europe & The Festival

“When I was a kid, Europe was divided by the Iron Curtain. My experience in the 90ies then was a Europe where we could all travel freely. Today, while we discuss about the foundations of this continent, what brings and ties us together and what will be our vision for the 21st century, I personally refer more to the history of our continent: It is shaped by many experiences all Europeans share. The most vivid one of them is the abolishment of war as a method of politics after the disaster of World War 2. The Festival as a team-building initiative, a civic complement to the politically driven integration process, is a courageous venture. It will strengthen the ties between pro-European people and it will show the magnitude of common cultural values.”
