The history

The original idea for integrating the European map for the I am EUROPE-an part goes back to Steven García, a New Yorker whose family comes from Puerto Rico. It was on the plane, from Berlin to Barcelona, in December 08. After a short briefing Steven just scribbled down a first sketch, then said: “I have to do it!” He took out his iBook and created a first digital design draft.

Guido Ludwig from our strategic partner studio langer picked up the idea and created 34 designs, one for each of The Festival Home Zones. It was quite tricky to fulfill all the design and layout requirements by Spreadshirt, the site for designing custom t-shirts. But in the end we made it. Now The Festival movement shirts are available (see below).

The shirts

Spreadshirt plotting techniques guarantee high quality prints. They are durable and the colors don’t fade. The Festival shirts use the Flex Print method, which produces a slightly shiny surface smooth to the touch and which is extremely durable.

Black is beautiful! The standard color of our shirts is black. It just goes best with green and white, the design colors.
